STUART - John Reback of
North Palm Beach won the seventh annual Downtown Dash 5K Run held Friday
evening at the Martin County Administration Building in Stuart as he
covered the looping 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 17 seconds.
Miami’s Jon Williams finished second in 17:48, and Jordan Dopkins of
Port St. Lucie was third in 18:03. Palm City’s Rex Noble, 45,
finished fourth overall to claim the Masters (age 40 and over) title in
18:32.
In the
women’s race, Brenda Wilson of Stuart won the Overall title in 19:07,
Palm City’s Michelle Weiler was second in 19:21, and Meredith Urban of
Vero Beach finished third in 19:46. Jensen Beach’s Rita Young, 45,
won the Masters title in 23:20.
A total
of 166 runners completed the event, which was organized by the Martin
County Parks and Recreation Department and hosted by the Sailfish Striders
Running Club of Stuart.
The
race was the second event in the three-race Summer Sizzler Series.
