Hospice Hundred 5K Bridge Run Raised

Fort Lauderdale,
FL…..April 14, 2007 a picture perfect day for the
run! Over 300 runners came out for the Sixth Annual
Hospice Hundred 5K Run. First place overall male
went to first timer Boris Fernandez, his time 18:08
and first place overall female went to Marlene
Persson who has attended the race all six years and
won 4 first places. Her winning time was 19:02. The
fourth place finisher overall was a 12 year old boy
Jeffrey Tate with an outstanding time of 19:02! Race
day was full of incredible excitement and
enthusiasm. Many of the sponsors came out and
enjoyed the fun: Fitness Together, Angie Bar,
Chiropractic USA, Muscle Max, Florida State Massage
Therapy, Publix just to mention a few. After the
race all the participants were entitled to a prize
filled raffle with prizes for a 2 night -3 day stay
at the brand new Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel and 2
private training sessions given by Fitness Together
Christy Fritch, immediately following the raffle was
the award ceremony. One hundred percent of the
proceeds for this 5K run was donated directly to
Hospice Hundred, Inc. $7,000.00 was raised by all.
"We thank everyone who participated and gave
sponsorships. We are looking forward to next year's
race, don't miss out we need sponsors and
volunteers", stated Judy Bertolett, race chair.
Hospice Hundred,
Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides
education and support to HospiceCare of Southeast
Florida, Inc. It was formed to educate and inform
the community of the Hospice concept, develop
financial resources to support the program and
recruit the volunteers to accomplish these goals. If
