JCC of Aventura's 5K Run brings Community Together

The JCC of Aventura hosted a 5K run Sunday Dec. 19 at 8:00 a.m. to raise money for their spots and fitness programs.

Medals were handed out to 1,2,3 place in each age division; it came down to the winner with second place behind by seconds.

When asked, how do you feel to have pushed yourself all this way and come out with the victory? Jon Williams comments, Good win, you know any win is a good win. My opponent really pushed me the whole way, my training partner Jeffrey Tait also pushed me.

When asked what does it mean for the JCC to gather the community together for an event like the MAR-JCC 5K run, Nancy Carroll, director of the MAR-JCC 5K race answered.

"The MAR-JCC is committed to the quality of life of the north Miami Dade community, trying to offer a wide array of fitness and wellness programs to accommodate every level and to promote healthy lifestyles."

Mrs. Carroll, the sports wellness director added "The money raised will go to fitness department to help create and implement programs for children and family."
