Q.  What factors did you use to determine the road race rankings?

A.  The factors will be ever evolving and tweaked but the main factors will be position and time differentials.  Number of training miles will also be weighed in, please don't email these numbers.  I will rely solely on the GPS tracking data and spy satellite photos to measure everyone's workout mileage.

Q. What races where used to determine the road rankings?

A. The races will generally be the largest from Broward or Dade counties during each month.  The events must be timed and scored online.

Q.  Will you only use certified 5k courses?

A.  The rankings really don't compare times from different courses, so it doesn't matter.

Q. Why not use "more" or "less" races to create the rankings?

A.  Every single variable can be debated but at this time I make all the choices.

Q.  I see some runners that I can beat ahead of me in the rankings?

A.  Beat them at the races used in the rankings and you will move in front of them.

Q. How long will it take you to update the website with the newest rankings?

A.  Generally the plan is to be no more than one month behind.

Q. Why are you doing this?

A.  Just trying to start something new for South Florida runners (I also don't like the ranking system from Florida Running and Triathlon).

Q.  I am not from Florida will I still be in the rankings?

A.  If you did well enough at the races selected for the rankings.

Q. What a genius you are, how did you think of this idea?

A.  I would like to give some credit to Bob, I saw his rankings and thought it was a great undeveloped idea.

Q. What about awards and cash prizes?

A.  The big awards ceremony will be televised from YOUR house in January 2006, where all the awards and prize money* will be distributed.

Q. What age group will I be in?

A. You be in what ever age group the race reports you as, so you may be in two different age categories if your birthday occurs during the year and you move up to a new age group.

Q.  I am a race director and want my race included in the rankings, what can I do?

A.  A bribe wouldn't hurt, but attracting more runners to your race would really do the trick.

Q.  If my question isn't answered here, can I email you?

A.  If you do I will never get these rankings done.

Q.  My name is wrong, what can I do?

A.  It helps not to use different names for different races during the year, and getting married is not going to help either (if you change your name).

* There aren't any actual awards or prize money yet, but who knows.
